Meet Inesh & Family

This month, we meet Inesh, mother of three boys, Oliver, Jordan and Bryson, and co-owner of Bo & Bun, Wild Habit Pizzeria and Miya Social.

Her days are shaped by school runs, sports schedules, and family life, alongside running multiple businesses. A season she describes as crazy, but in the best way.

Motherhood has influenced the way she creates, with a focus on spaces that feel warm and welcoming for families.

We sat down with Inesh to talk about motherhood, business, and life in Bali.

To start, can you introduce yourself - a little about you, your family, and what fills your days?

I am Inesh, from Bali, Indonesia. I am a professional golfer and co-owner of Bo & Bun, Wild Habit Pizzeria, and Miya Social, as well as Smash Factor Indoor Golf Simulator and most importantly, a mother of three very active little boys. My days are filled with preparing my kids for school, driving them to after-school activities, working, and cooking dinner for my family.

You’re raising three boys while running multiple restaurants. What does this season of life look like for you right now?

CRAZY! Haha. It’s chaotic and stressful, but very rewarding at the same time. Time management is key. Having three boys who all play multiple sports almost every day, in different places at different times, is definitely a challenge. But I’ve learned to manage my time wisely and try not to put things off if I can do it now, I do it immediately so I don’t forget. I also try to organise their calendar one or two days ahead. And I’ve learned to delegate a lot! I try to delegate my work and train my staff rather than doing everything myself like before motherhood, so I can spend more time with my boys.

What has motherhood taught you most - especially being a mum to three boys so close in age?

To be patient and calm during chaos. My kids are all very active, and they feed off each other’s energy and cheekiness, so things get crazy very, very fast! But my husband and I have learned to stay calm, take things one at a time, and just keep going even when times are hard.

How has becoming a mother shaped the way you approach your businesses?

As a mother and a restaurant owner, I try to think more about how my businesses can cater to families with young children like myself, how they can enjoy good food together in a space that feels comfortable, because it can be quite challenging eating out with young kids. Whether it’s adding a playground (like at Miya Social), having a well-thought-out kids’ menu, or small activities like painting and word searches, even little toy gifts to keep them entertained during their visit. We try to think about all those details.

What inspires the way you create your spaces?

We’re inspired to create comfortable, intimate spaces where people can enjoy good, consistent food. All of our restaurants share the same goal, it’s not about being the trendiest or the fanciest, but about being consistent, efficient, and warm in our service. Like when you go to someone’s house for dinner. We want guests who came 10 years ago to come back today and feel like the food is just as good with the same familiar warm service as they remember. We aim for everyday eating that’s reliable and genuinely good.

What are some of your favourite rituals with your boys?

I love taking the boys to golf and tennis and watching them improve each week, it’s so exciting seeing their progress. I also enjoy taking them to the movies, trying new restaurants together, and family dinners every night are definitely the highlight of my day. We get to sit together, enjoy a meal, and talk about random (mostly boy) things lol.

What does your ideal day together in Bali look like?

My ideal day would start with spending the morning at the beach with the kids and Hiccup (our dog) playing in the water, going for a walk, and having a slow breakfast together. Then we’d spend the day at home watching movies, maybe go for a swim in the pool, and end the day with a nice home-cooked meal. I’d read them Harry Potter before bed. Nice and simple. 🙂
